About Us

Our Mission

At Gregor’s Marine, our mission is to spread our love for boating to as many people as we can. To that end, we want to make sure that your boating experiences are both enjoyable and safe. We sell and service a variety of the best marine accessories available so that all our customers who venture out onto the water should find it as transformative an experience as we did when we first started out.

All of us who work here are avid boaters, and as a result we understand not only what people want and need for their aquatic endeavors, but also how to fix these items when they inevitably break down. In the nearly 40 years Gregor’s Marine has been in business, we have seen just about everything that can go wrong with a boat or an engine, and we know exactly how to repair them in the shortest timeframe possible. Part of our mission is to use this wisdom to solve our customers’ problems quickly and economically, so they can resume their boating adventures.

Being a family owned and operated business, Gregor’s Marine understands the importance of family and translates this to our customer relations. We have always felt the need to treat our customers as we would treat our very own family, which is why we will go the extra mile to make sure that we not only meet your expectations but exceed them. Just read through our online reviews and see what people say about us and the level of service that we provide.

Our Founders

Louis Sr. and Maria Gregor

Both Louis and Maria were born in Sopron, Hungary and emigrated to the Northeast U. S. in 1956.  Louis and Maria, along with close family, owned and operated Turul Book Bindery until 1985 when they relocated to Largo, Florida.

Louis, Maria and son Louis Jr. founded Gregor's Marine in 1985.  While Lou Jr. has always been the technical guru, Louis and Maria, known to all as Mom and Dad, were the dreamers and doers.  Lou Sr. always had visions of what could be and worked tirelessly to see them through.  Maria was the quiet guide on the side, ensuring that the daily operations ran smoothly.

While both Louis and Maria are greatly missed, it is their work ethic, values and dedication that still guide Gregor's Marine today.

Captain Michael Denehy

Sales, Operations & Parts Manager

Captain Mike grew up in Port Tampa, FL where he developed his love for boating.  He served our country in the United States Navy after graduating from Tampa Bay Tech high school.  The family at Gregor's Marine has welcomed him aboard in his mission to oversee the entire sales and parts division, including the operations of the company. As Captain Mike states below, his wide array of marine experience has proven to be pivotal in his ability to succeed in this position.

“My goal is ensuring customers receive the best experience and advice possible for their repower, parts, or service needs. Growing up in Port Tampa FL, I have fished the Tampa Bay and Offshore Waters recreationally, and professionally for almost 50 years. This amount of sea time in local waters, and the experience of operating dozens of various vessels in different conditions is a valuable asset. Sharing this asset helps customers make proper, educated decisions for their safety and enjoyment on the water.”
